Osceola County set to host sessions for business assistance grants

Osceola County, Fla. — Businesses that have been impacted by the pandemic have an opportunity to learn how to apply for a one time grant program during a series of informational sessions.

Starting on Wednesday, the first session will be held at the Extension Services office on 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane. It will be hosted by the Osceola County Economic Development Department. This session will be used to clear up any misunderstandings of the grant application process. That will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and face coverings are required to attend.

Osceola Commission Chairman Brandon Arrington says “We have funding available and we want to make sure that none of our businesses leave anything on the table. With more than $3.2 million already distributed, these grants have already proven to be difference makers for many struggling businesses. We want to ensure that anyone who is eligible takes advantage of this opportunity.”

There are also two other scheduled sessions. On Thursday December 10th, that session will be held at the Old Town Event Space at 5770 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. The next one will be on Thursday, December 17 at the Osceola County Tax Collector’s Office in Campbell City at 4730 South Orange Blossom Trail.

Anyone who wishes to instead attend a virtual session can register at economicdevelopmentCARES@osceola.org . Those sessions are on the same days, but instead will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Those who are eligible to apply can receive emergency funding on a reimbursement basis, based on the following:

-Up to $5,000 for home based businesses, and businesses with one (1) employee, or non-profits with no employees (volunteers only).

-Up to $10,000 for applicants with 2-25 employees

-Up to $20,000 for applicants with 26 or more employees
