Orlando’s Hispanic Chamber of Commerce appoints new president

Orlando, Fla. — The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando has appointed Gaby Ortigoni as it's new president.

On April 9, Ortigoni will replace Frank Lopez who stepped down last October for personal reasons after serving only 10 months in the position.

Gaby Ortigoni was regional vice president of Prospera (formerly HBIF, the Florida Hispanic Business Initiative Fund.) Before that, Ortigoni was director of marketing and sales from 2005 to 2009 for the Hispanic chamber .

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando currently has more than 1,700 members, making it the areas largest chamber of commerce. It and other organizations are dealing with the large influx of Puerto Ricans due to hurricane Maria.

Chamber Chairman Paul Roldin, told the Orlando Business Journal that the chamber reviewed more than 60 applicants for the position.
