The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is working to meet the needs of the community by distributing food at three separate events this week.
At each event, deputies will hand out 200 boxes of food. The first food distribution Tuesday at the sheriff’s office central operations ran out of food within minutes.

Sheriff John Mina spoke to News 96.5 WDBO about the effort. He said they had planned a series of community barbecues but had to cancel them in March because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“So, obviously because of social distancing we weren’t able to do that but we were like, why don’t we use that money that we were going to use for the community barbecues and distribute some food,” said Mina.
