Weather Alert Day: How soon we’ll see our 1st freeze in 4 years

5:15 p.m. update

Chief meteorologist Tom Terry said freeze durations for this weekend increase the farther north and west you live.

3:25 p.m. update

A widespread freeze (32 degrees or lower) and a fairly widespread hard freeze (28 degrees or lower) are expected for Central Florida on Sunday morning.

This would be the first freeze in Orlando in more than four years.

It will bring Central Florida its biggest chill in about 3 or 4 years.

Thursday’s forecast will be mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of a passing shower.

It will be more comfortable, with highs in the low 70s.

Friday’s forecast will be similar, but the front will move in during the night.

Looking ahead, temperatures will be in the 40s for highs on Saturday.

On Saturday night, temperatures will drop into the 20s and 30s across Central Florida.
