School can be expensive for parents, particularly when shopping for back-to-class supplies.
To help with that, a sales-tax holiday on certain school supplies was approved by the Legislature earlier this year.
From July 31st to August 9th, sales tax will be excluded from a list of items often needed during back-to-school shopping.
This list includes school supplies costing $15 or less, clothes costing $60 or less and the first $1,000 on the price of a personal computer.
While there is no limit on how much you can buy, if you, for instance, buy more than $60 of clothes on any given transaction, the sales tax will be due on the entire amount.

Last year the holiday only ran three days, while this year it was bumped up to a ten-day holiday.
