Orange County, Fla. —
Florida Crime-line rewards in the shooting deaths of two Orange County boys have been increased to $20,000 each.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Friday, the increased rewards are courtesy of donations made by the Florida Sheriffs Association and the Sheriff’s Office
Crime-line initially offered rewards of $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the Sept. 21 shooting death of Denis Joshua Atkinson, 14, and the Sept. 22 shooting death of 3 year old Daquane Felix Jr.
Detectives said Atkinson was visiting a neighbor when he was shot in a drive-by shooting on Glendale Road. Daquane was killed in a drive-by shooting on Drexel Avenue.
“We are pleading with the community to step up and help us solve these tragic and heinous murders,” Sheriff John Mina said in a statement. "
Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to call Crime-line at 407-423-8477. Callers may remain anonymous.
The reward in the 9/21 murder of 14-year-old Denis Joshua Atkinson is now $20,000, thanks to a generous donation from the @FLSsheriffs Criminal Apprehension Assistance Program (CAAP), OCSO & Crimeline.
