Universal Orlando fans eagerly awaiting the finish of the new theme park Epic Universe will have to wait even longer for it to be completed.
In a conference call Thursday, NBC Universal CEO Jeff Shell, who owns the parks, said that they are pausing development of the new park until their "future becomes more certain." They will instead be focusing their efforts on the needs of the parks during the pandemic.
Comcast also said that due to the closures, the park’s revenue was decreased by 94%. The park was scheduled to open in 2023, but now the future date of the park’s opening is uncertain.
