Orlando, Fla. — A gas shortage is hitting parts of the southeast U.S. particularly hard, but Florida is seeing only minimal impacts.
In the Panhandle, GasBuddy is reporting 73% of gas stations in Pensacola have limited fuel or completely run out.
The shortage is blamed on the shutdown of a major fuel distributor in the region and the ripple effect of the cyber attack on the Colonial Pipeline.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody says she’s “expanding” the state’s price-gouging hotline due to the Colonial Pipeline cyber attack.
Governor Ron DeSantis yesterday issued a state of emergency saying it would relax restrictions to allow fuel to be more easily delivered to part of the state experiencing shortages.
To report price-gouging call 1-866-NO-SCAM.
A form to report price-gouging is also available on the AG’s website, MyFloridaLegal.com.
