Body found in submerged SUV over the weekend identified as missing Orange County mother

The medical examiner’s office confirmed on Monday that body found inside an SUV in an Orange County retention pond is Stephanie Hollingsworth, a mother who has been missing since the end of September.

On Saturday, Orlando Police confirmed Hollingsworth’s SUV was found submerged in a retention pond in the Lake Nona area. The pond is located near Story Time Drive and Dowden Road, about 20 minutes from her home in the Belle Isle area. Drone pilots hovering above the pond discovered the SUV.

Hollingsworth was last seen on September 25. She was captured on surveillance video at the Walmart on 5991 S Goldenrod Road. .

The medical examiner’s office has yet to determine the official cause of death for Hollingsworth.
