An Arkansas man who was seen kicking back at Nancy Pelosi’s desk during the January 6th Capitol riot has been found guilty on eight criminal counts.
In a decision handed down Monday, Richard “Bigo” Barnett was convicted on felony charges related to civil disorder and obstruction of an official proceeding. He’s scheduled to be sentenced in May, prosecutors say.
The 62-year-old Barnett was all over the media in 2021 when photos showed him sitting back in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s chair with his feet on her desk. Barnett has claimed he was only looking for a bathroom when he stumbled into Pelosi’s office -- and he only put his feet on her desk at the urging of a photographer. However, prosecutors have revealed Barnett followed his visit to Pelosi’s office by addressing the crowd with a bullhorn. He said, “We took back our House, and I took Nancy Pelosi’s office!”
