A horse skeleton was confiscated at a Jacksonville mail sorting facility

A Veterinary Services Permit is required to import bones

Customs officials in Florida said they seized a complete horse skeleton at the International Mail Facility in Jacksonville.

The package arrived from Hungary with more than 200 equine bones inside.

Photos shared on twitter from Daniel Alonso, the acting director of field operations for the agency’s Miami and Tampa field offices show the bones arranged to create a complete horse skeleton.

The caption read, “No horsing around this Halloween.”

Alonso said the package did not have a required veterinary services permit and would not be sent along to its intended destination.
