GoFundMe removes fundraisers for travel linked to pro-Trump rallies and demonstrations

GoFundMe, the largest fundraising platform in the world, has banned all fundraisers for travel to Trump rallies.

Law enforcement has warned that supporters of President Trump are continuing to plan and prepare for more inauguration-related events.

But, GoFundMe says because of last week’s violence at the Capitol, people will no longer be able to use their site to raise cash to help get them there.

A statement from the company said in part, “GoFundMe will remove fundraisers for travel expenses to a future political event where there’s a risk of violence by attendees.”

The top fundraiser at GoFundMe at the moment is a campaign for the Capitol Police Officer who was killed by pro-Trump rioters Wednesday.
