Immunocompromised people who received a third vaccine shot are now eligible for a fourth, according to the CDC.
New guidelines call for a fourth dose administered six months after the third shot, for adults with “severely weakened immune systems” - roughly 3% of the population.
The guidelines apply only to those who received two-dose vaccines like Pfizer and Moderna - the Johnson & Johnson vaccine has different guidelines.
