Caitlyn Jenner defends David Chappelle in trans controversy, says he’s ‘100-percent right’

Caitlyn Jenner is defending Dave Chappelle, who’s been under fire for jokes about transgender people in his latest Netflix special, The Closer, which debuted earlier this month.

The transgender former reality star and Republican candidate for governor in California’s recent failed recall election tweeted yesterday (October 26th), “Dave Chappelle is 100% right. This isn’t about the LGBTQ movement. It’s about woke cancel culture run amok, trying to silence free speech. We must never yield or bow to those who wish to stop us from speaking our minds.”

Jenner attached her comments to footage Chappelle shared from one his recent performances in which he addressed the controversy.

In it, Chappelle said the uproar wasn’t about the LGTBQ community, but, quote, “about corporate interests and what I can say and what I cannot say.”

Interestingly enough, in The Closer special, Chappelle makes a joke about Jenner, referring to how she won a Woman of the Year award soon after she came out as transgender in 2015.
