Marketing ADvisor, Jimmy Farrell of AM 580 WDBO is joined by special guest host, Dan Leaphart, from Cox Events Group, to discuss marketing for 2011.
10) Incorporate video into every marketing solution possible. Some examples of where to utilize video marketing would be during presentations or one the company website.
9) Make sure you use your business/service on the web in search marketing to assure that you are a strong player in the digital realm.
8) Go to WebsiteGrader.com and type in your web address. It is a FREE program that allows you to look at how your website is graded in terms of effectiveness.
7) Shop at your competitors. You need to have an understanding of what your competition is doing that you may not be doing yet.
6) Conduct a FREE Marketing Strategy Model with AM 580 WDBO
5) Launch ONE new idea every quarter. Be sure to not get stale with your marketing efforts.
4) Try one marketing avenue that you have not tried in the past year. This does not mean to necessarily stop your current marketing efforts, but to add onto it and continue to grow your business.
3) Read on of the following books. Just one! a) Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking - Malcolm Gladwell b) The 22 Immutable Laws of Branding - Al & Laura Ries c) Ogilvy on Advertising - David Ogilvy d) Hey, Whipple, Squeeze This - Luke Sullivan e) Positioning: The Battle for Your Mind - Al Ries Bonus - Purple Cow - Seth Godin
2) Brainstorm daily. Define a problem statement and make a list with tons of ideas that may allow you to overcome your problem statement.
1) People buy your product or service because it takes care of a need or a problem they have. They do not buy your service or product because of a cool looking sign, a cute idea, or because of your name.
One bonus resolution that you should take into consideration is to include an event to incorporate into your marketing efforts. Think about the personal interaction you would have with potential clients or even the number of potential clients who get to see, touch, or even try your products or services. But when choosing an event to be apart of, make sure you do the research to assure the event or even the event company is right for you so you can get a great return on your investment.
