Grassroots Marketing- Marketing your company, organization, products or services on a local and on a personal level.
What Should You Do When Using Grassroots Marketing?
1) Be Real. Be Authentic. Be Yourself.
2) Lead with a handshake; keep your business cards in your pocket.
3) Help others and they will help you.
4) Don't promise more than you can deliver.
5) Use the internet (LinkedIn, Facebook) to make face to face connections. You can also connect and introduce people though email.
What Should You Not Do When Using Grassroots Marketing?
Do not go to tradeshows, breakfast meetings, workshops, etc...with the intent of selling. You should focus on networking and getting to know potential clients.
Linda's 4 Tips For Successful Grassroots Marketing
1) Be authentic.
2) Be genuinely curious. Find out more about people when you first meet them rather than try to sell to them.
3) Be a giver and a connector.
4) Get out there! Go to the events- breakfasts, meetings, Rotary Club, National Association of Entrepreneurs (meetings are held every other Tuesday)
Books mentioned on the show: The Purple Cow by Seth Godin.
