A University of Central Florida student was arrested Tuesday night after sparking a bomb scare that shut down parking garages and forced people to evacuate.
31-year-old Cory Carr was arrested for allegedly telling other students he was going to blow up UCF and kill people on the campus.
The university says Carr threatened to explode the bomb in Classroom I building. Students called 9-1-1, and Garages A and H were shut down as investigators looked for his vehicle. Everything was reopened shortly before 10 p.m. after the car was searched and no bombs were found.
Carr was charged with making a false report of a bomb and conspiring to interfere with the education process. Court records show Carr was charged with misdemeanor assault in 2003.
